- To set the scene... July 1994 I am 19 years old, I have been married for two years and I am due to give birth... not only to a 9lb6oz baby boy but to family life!! I am totally unprepared. I can not imagine what the next 20+ years of family life are going to be like... It all rings clear, the second night after giving birth a midwife wakes me to feed my baby. I am clueless and feel that this nurse does not know that it is her responsibility to care for the child during the night, so I can sleep... doesn't she realise that I am still a teenager and need at least ten hours sleep... well apparently not... and that is where it all begins! My Reality Bites...
